We formally announce the election of the new general body of the television journalists' association.
Mentioned below are the rules, regulations and the time-frame for the election.
We seek your cooperation for a successful election. Returning Officer Sunil Tambe was not of opinion to hold this election so he resigned as a Returning Officer.

Rules and regulations
1) Listed voters can apply for any, or all of these posts. President, Vice-President (Reserved for VJ), General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer (One post each) and General body members (10 posts). However, on the last day of nominations, if your nomination stands for more than one post, all your nominations shall be disqualified).
[You are expected to withdraw all the other nominations except the one which you really want to contest for]
2) The nomination will have to be filed only in the prescribed format. Forms of Rs. 100/- each are available with election officers Waseem Haidar.
3) A referer/endorser can sign for ONLY ONE nominee per post. Applications violating this clause shall be disqualified
4) Each voter shall cast FIFTEEN votes, ONLY ONE each for the posts mentioned in clause # 1 above
5) Each post shall have a separate ballot sheet
6) Voters have to be present physically. Proxy votes or tele-mail-votes shall not be entertained
7) Election officers shall be the supreme authority for any grievances, issues or objections
8) The election shall be conducted during the annual general body meeting on the 30th August at Dental College Hall, St Georges Hospital, Near CST, P.d’mello road, Mumbai , from 10 am to 6 pm, following which total tallies shall be announced
Election Procedure
Elections shall take place for the posts of President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer (One post each) and General Body members (10 posts – 2 posts reserved for women).
1) Final Voters' list published on 20th August 2010
2) Nomination forms shall on sale from Friday, 20th August 2010 to 22 August.
3) The deadline for filing nominations is Monday, 23rd August, 2010, 1700 hours.
4) The approved list of candidates shall be published on Monday, 23rd August 2010 by 0000 hrs.
6) The deadline for withdrawing nomination is Tuesday, 24 August, 2010 by 8 pm.
7) The final list of candidates shall be published on Tuesday, 24 August 2010, 12 am. If the number of applications is less or exactly equal to the number of the said post(s), winners shall be declared as elected unopposed.
8) Voting shall take place on Monday, 30th August, on the said venue.
9) Counting and declaration of final tallies shall follow.
