VIMP_Entry Passes & PGM Output of Lalbaugh cha Raja by TVJA

Dear Member,
As you all know this year Lalbaugh cha Raja is going to celebrate its platinum jubilee & expects huge gathering of devotees. Keeping it in mind & coverage priorities of all news channels our TVJA had a good discussion with the Organisers. As a results of it some important decisions are taken. They are as follows,

1) Entry Passes for the coverage of Lalbaugh cha raja will be issued by TVJA.
Today, please collect the passes, 5 per news channel, at ' TV 18 ', Empire Complex, Lower Parel, Mumbai . Mr. Ravindra Ambekar, President, TVJA will be there between 7 30pm to 9 30pm to issue the Entry Passes.

2) TVJA has specifically asked for a PGM output of 5 cam setup put by the organisers for all news channels who covers Lalbaughcha raja for live feed. Organisers have agreed on this & they are going to put a technical device from which an output can be carried through the cable for all those who are setting up their OB Vans for coverage.

3) To bring a discipline in news coverage TVJA has asked for a specified area to set cameras. Its been allotted to the left side of an idol 15 feet above & opposite to an idol with a barricading. No crew will be allowed in this area if they don't have a proper entry pass.

4) It was on of the imp demand of TVJA which is agreed that to provide a BITE AREA for interviews of VVIPs / Film Stars. Such 2 areas are been prepared on the both ways of dignitaries. If anyone tries to take bite out of these BITE AREA neither TVJA nor Organizers will be responsible for its security & police officials can take action against such indiscipline crew members.

5) Organisers have also agreed to put a media cell / person to brief news channels about the happenings at pedal round the clock. There will be someone from them also available for bite.

TVJA's efforts are to bring discipline in coverage. Hope you all will co operate.

Thanks & wish you all a best coverage of Ganesh Utsav 08.

PSI suspended, Crime Branch to investigate & Pvt. Security Forces under scanner

Dear Member,

The TV Journalist Association has taken up the attack on an India TV reporter and cameraperson on Saturday very seriously. The two people were assaulted at Infinity Mall, Andheri, by private security guards at the mall.

On Saturday, a delegation led by TVJA's General Secretary Prasad Kathe met Home Minister R R Patil and demanded strong action against the culprits. The delegation presented visuals of reporter Wasim Akhtar being beaten up as proof. The visuals present the true, unbiased story.

Mr Patil transferred the case from Oshiwara Police Station to the Mumbai Crime Branch. He phoned Mr Sanjay Barve, Temparary Jt. CP (Crime) and ordered him to look into the matter. He also instructed commissioner Hasan Gafoor to suspend PSI Jitendra Kadam, who failed to perform his duties when he was at the spot. Later, Mr Patil has asked his department to start a scrutiny of all the private security agencies in the state.

On Sunday, TVJA president Mr Ravindra Ambekar raised this issue strongly at the meeting of Committee for Prevention of Attacks on Journalists at Sindhudurg, Konkan. The chairman of this Committee, Mr Rajendra Shingane , has decided to call upon the victims and police officers concerned. The committee will also inquire into this matter. A sub-committee, comprising Mr Ambekar and Mr Yuvraj Mohite, has been formed to submit a status report to the Chief Minister Shri. Vilasrao Deshmukh within the next two days. Mr Mohite is a member of the Committee for Prevention of Attacks on Journalists & executive editor of Daily Mahanagar.

These are just the prelimnary steps announced by the TVJA.

I assure you that we will do everything to take this issue to a satisfactory conclusion.

Hope to get your support in future also.

Thanking you,

Prasad Kathe,
Gen. Secretary,
TVJA
